From July 18th to 20th, 2024, the Xiamen International Exhibition Center (Xiang'an) hosted the Xiamen International Construction Machinery and Wheel Loader Exhibition. As an enterprise specializing in the research and manufacturing of excavators and tower cranes, we brought our latest models of excavators and tower cranes to the exhibition. The exhibition was themed "Innovation, Intelligent Manufacturing, and Win-Win Cooperation", focusing on markets along the "Belt and Road" initiative. It attracted over 50,000 professional visitors from more than 10 countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia - many of whom were overseas buyers like Mr. Lee, who came with "service demands".
At 10 o'clock on the second day of the exhibition, Mr. Lee, the purchasing manager of a construction company from Malaysia, walked up to our booth. He was wearing a dark suit and holding a notepad filled with notes. His gaze first fell on the new excavator model on the exhibition stand.
After Mr. Lee had understood all the service details, he gave a satisfied smile. He took out his business card and handed it to Mr. Wang, saying: "Your services are very comprehensive and well-thought-out. After returning to the company, I will discuss with the management and place the order as soon as possible - we need 10 excavators and 5 tower cranes."
Mr. Wang took the business card and said: "Thank you, Mr. Lee, for your trust. We will do our best to provide you with the best products and services. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time."
After the exhibition ended, we made a count: This exhibition received a total of 12 overseas clients. Among them, 5 clients expressed clear purchasing intentions, and the estimated order amount was expected to exceed 2 million US dollars. Through communication with these clients, we deeply realized:
Overseas customers not only care about the quality and price of the products, but also pay attention to after-sales service, spare parts supply and technical support;
Localized services are the "key" to opening up the overseas market - for example, setting up service centers and spare parts warehouses in Southeast Asia, providing English training, all of which can make customers feel "at ease";
Exhibitions are an important platform to connect with overseas customers. Through face-to-face communication, we can more accurately understand the customers' needs and optimize the service plan.
