On September 12, 2025, in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province: The 8th Lifting Skills Competition, organized by the China Electric Power Construction Enterprise Association and sponsored by XCMG Group, was grandly opened at the XCMG Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. base. This event, with the theme of "Intelligent Lifting - Green Future", attracted 32 top teams from across the country and 200+ competitors to participate, making it the largest in history. 
Highlights of the Opening Ceremony 

The collision between technology and tradition
At the opening ceremony, XGC1800, a fully-terrain crane independently developed by XCMG, performed a millimeter-level precise lifting show. The intelligent anti-shake system it was equipped with caused the audience to gasp in amazement. Wang Bin, the president of the China Electric Power Construction Association, pointed out: This competition has for the first time set up a BIM collaborative operation event, promoting the traditional lifting operation to upgrade to digitalization. 

Green competition concept
The entire event uses new energy equipment. The all-electric crane provided by XCMG achieves zero emissions during operation. The contestants need to balance efficiency and environmental protection indicators in the simulated installation of wind turbine towers. 

Industry talent incubation
Xugong Group has announced the establishment of the "Young Seedling Program", and the winners of the competition will be granted the qualification for international certification training. Li Zhenhua, the team leader of the Shaanxi delegation, said: This is not only a competition of technology, but also a dialogue on industry standards. 
Match Preview 
Over the next three days, the contestants will face six extremely challenging tasks, including modular lifting of super high-rise buildings and operations in narrow spaces. The judging panel consists of 15 national-level lifting experts, and the scoring criteria have added an item for intelligent monitoring of safe operation. 
Background Extension
Since its establishment in 2011, the lifting skills competition has trained over a thousand senior technicians. This year's event is also concurrently hosting the Global Lifting Technology Summit. International manufacturers such as Liebherr from Germany will showcase their cutting-edge solutions.
